**KEEP AN EAR TO THE STREETS FOR NEW UPCOMING PRODUCTION FROM THE BODYDONNAZ
Recently we had the chance to sit down with one of Ottawa’s favorite emcees, Masta Ace. Wasting no time with the veteran hiphop we got right to it and started discussing the history of beef between crews in Brooklyn, who he listens to these days, the industry, Kanye’s skirt and much more.
Returning to our National Capital, Yelawolf did his thing earlier this month once again. Banging out “Daddy’s Lambo” right off the bat, the Alabama native rocked his spit-fire style lyricism at the sold out nightclub who echoed every word. Ritual was at capacity, packed tight full of drenched hillbillies on a hot May night, and Yelawolf’s grungy stage presence captivated everyones attention. With an hour and a half set the Eminem co-signed, Shady Records artist left almost nothing out of his impressive catalogue.
In our exclusive interview, Catfish Billy shed some light on his early musical influences, lends some advice to upcoming artists and discusses the realities of surviving in the music industry.

The legendary Masta Ace of the Juice Crew touched down in Ottawa, hailing all the way from Brownsville, Brooklyn. The hip-hop veteran is renowned for his lyrical complexity & has had major influence on modern day emcees.
Ace is no stranger to Ottawa – he has preformed in the Capital before and this time around his reception was huge. Ritual was packed & he had the whole club chanting “Ottawa is the house” and “Ottawa is number one” before shutting the venue down with an hour-plus set featuring all his classics. Even though his set was much longer than usual, the crowd did not miss a beat and stayed with him the whole time.
After sound check bywardofmouth had time to sit down and chop it up with the legend himself. We touched on everything from his early influences, the current state of hip-hop, what it was like hearing himself on the radio for the first time and much more.
